DRIVING HOME AFTER BEING STOOD UP

 

What looks like fingers

reaching from the dark

pool of asphalt for the

bright swelling moon

is what’s left of a bird

smeared on the road.

Born in the Bronx to Dominican and Guatemalan parents, he completed his MFA at Florida International University in Miami.
